Hurst Family Update

Nothing much happening in the Hurst clan this week. We've got about a week to go before Em turns 2. Which is sort of bittersweet. Hunter is doing great in school. He's taken a spelling test everyweek since school started and hasn't missed a single question. He is in a split class this year. He's a 1st grader and in a 1st/2nd Grade class. ALL the homework he brings home are on the second grade level. I probably should have let him skip kindergarten, but Hurst & I were afraid he wouldn't be ready socially. I'm VERY proud of Hunter. He's a sticklar about his grades. Much more so than Hurst & I are. Hunter will be playing flag football this fall. He's so excited and I'm just as excited that I'm not the one coaching the team. We're a little tired after coaching Hunter's baseball team.

Well, with one week until my baby turns 2, I sit here contemplating beginning motherhood again. Of course, I'd like to be a size 8 before getting pregnant again, but this is the REAL world. I doubt I'll ever be a size 8 again, but you know what, in the scheme of things it doesn't really matter. I find myself getting excited that my baby girl is successfully becoming potty trained. If you haven't had to go through this let, then let me tell you, Em is catching on quick. It's a whole family affair. Which is so funny. Even Hunter gets in on it. We sing a song and do a dance for EVERY successful trip! Our Potty Party is happening more & more often. We've only been at this for 6 days, we started Sunday before Labor Day, and we're out of diapers except for naps, bedtime, & outings! Which is wonderful and we've had NO accidents for 3 days! Now, I know I've got over 40 friends on here and most of you just don't care if I spent my day changing diapers or not, so for those of you that's just read through the Potty Party, I apologize. I do remember what life before kids was like, vaguely! All I know is that when you're standing in the bathroom singing a silly song and doing a stupid dance you'll get where I'm coming from.

This weekend the Hurst clan is going home. Nancy needs help in the kitchen. I swear the woman's TROUBLE whenever she gets near a stove! Earlier in the summer Hurst and I had to replace the exhaust fan over the oven because she caught it on fire. This time around we are repairing the ceilings and painting. I tried to get her to paint the room a pretty yellow to match her apple border, but alas,, I wasn't successful. She's sticking to plain old white. I swear that woman is the MOST Vanilla person I've EVER met. LOL!! Oh well, it's her house!!

We''ll since it's 1:34 am on Saturday morning and I've got to be up @ 6 am to get ready to leave I better shut up! Especially, since I'm typing with my eyes closed!! Sorry for any weird typos or bad grammar. I'll proofread tomorrow!
